Queen Fatou
Fatou, brings her ability to sing in many different languages from the African Diaspora with her own personal touch whilst utilizing her classy and robust energy. Although, she sings in many different languages she captivates her audience with her regal presence and passion that she brings through the songs which gives you a sense of unique understanding and connection.
Her bold, colorful, empowering, organic and soulful presence has graced the stage for more than 20 years with her amazing talents nationally. She recalls culture dancing which is her first passion, before she could speak at an early age and says that singing was an added bonus. Most of the songs that she sings are about unity, love, world peace and women rights here and abroad. She’s very passionate about preserving the culture of the Motherland and her roots.
She currently performs for several occasions with her culture troupe, the African Rhythm Ambassadors which consists of the Harmonica, Guitar Section, (Kora), Djembe and/or Sabar Drum Ensemble where she performs traditional folk African song and dance. She also performs with her band the, ARA Band where she performs High Life, AfroPop, AfroBeat and Traditional music alongside her three-piece harmony women singer group the ARA Singers with Soukous and Culture dancing.
Her performances are considered “Culture Shows” because she brings a ‘Taste of Africa’ where ever she performs. She’s often asked what part of Africa, she is from and she responds, “there is only “One Africa”. However, Senegal is where her heart is. Her influences are: Adiouza, Aida Samb, Angelique Kidjo, Brenda Fassie, Lauryn Hill, Miriam Makeba, Nihawa Doumbia, Sade and Vivanne Chidid.
